Eye and Dental checkup done for 1032 employees by Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) concluded the four-day refraction error, eye and dental checkup camp organized at Vallabh Bhawan on Friday. This camp was organized by Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital from 10th to 14th February 2025. As many as 1,032 employees got their eyes and teeth checked in the camp. Out of these, 747 employees were found to have refraction error and 47 were found to have symptoms of cataract and Pterygium. Employees were provided 491 drops and 280 spectacles to eye patients free of charge. Apart from these, 86 employees were advised to go to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and get their eye ailments treated. Apart from eye diseases, 67 employees of high Blood pressure and 127 persons were found to have diabetes.
In dental diseases, 408 employees were advised to get RCT procedure and 211 employees were advised to get extraction done. Another 305 employees who were addict of chewing Paan and Gutkha regularly having dirt in their denture were cleaned properly. Like wise 11 employees whose mouth was not opening properly, they were advised to get proper treatment for OSMF disease.
Shri Kansotia said that when the eyesight and general health of the employees are good, their efficiency and competency increase. Efforts will be made to organize General checkup camps also for other common diseases in the nearer future. Shri Kansotia appriciated the services of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital who has organized this camp at Vallabh Bhavan.

On this occasion, office bearers of the employees organizations, Shri Subhash Verma, GP Singh, Ghanshyam Bhakoria, Sureshchand Osle, Sewa Sadan’s Dr. Annie Ankita, Dr. Sanjiti Arya, Dr. Neha Mota, Dr. Komal Daswani, Dr. Roshni Gyanchandani, Optometrist Ajay Singh and Sagar Gorse, coordinating staff Hiranand Thanwani and Nilesh Waghmare were also present.
Nisha Solanki belongs to a large family of two brothers and four sisters (of whom 3 are married). Both her brothers and elder sister attend school. Nisha’s father is mentally challenged. The responsibility of earning is on the mother, who is a daily wage farm labourer and grandmother, who tends to her goats. Two earing members for a family of ten.
Blindness in children leads to deep impact on psychological, emotional, and socioeconomic growth to the family. A child with blindness is more likely to have delays in developmental milestones, to be more frequently hospitalized, and die during childhood than a sighted child. Such severe vision loss also adversely effects the educational activities, orientation, and mobility from the early stage of life resulting in lack of employment privilege. These differential characteristics between a sighted and non-sighted child is more obvious in developing countries. Moreover, the disability adjusted life years (DALY) loss in a blind child is far more than that of adults with blindness.
