On the eve of the 19th death anniversary of Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahib Ji, on 20th December 2024, a free health checkup, treatment, and consultation camp was organized in Nav Yuvak Sabha School, Bhopal premises. Five hundred and twenty patients benefitted from it. On 21st December, to mark Santji’s death anniversary 102 cataract surgeries were performed at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Bhopal, of which 49 were males and 53 females.
Every year, on the birth anniversary (21 September) and death anniversary (21 December) of Paramhansa Sant Hirdaram Sahib Ji, Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital performs free surgeries.
This free health camp was organized under the joint aegis of Chirayu Hospital and Medical College and Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Bhopal. As many as 20 specialist doctors of various specialties rendered their services voluntarily. In addition to check up, medicines were also provided free of cost by both the organizations to the patients as per their requirements.
On this occasion, educationist Vishnu Gehani, social worker Vasdev Wadhwani, Secretary Suresh Rajpal, Purshotam Tilwani, Dharamprakash Motwani, Trustees, Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Tulsi Advani, Suresh Awatramani, A.C. Sadhwani, Mahesh Dayaramani and Rajkumar Mulchandani were also present.
Among the doctors present at the camp from Chirayu Hospital were General Physician and Cancer Specialist Dr Ankit Borasi and Dr. Yashraj Gupta; ENT specialists Dr Priya Samuel and Dr Lavisha Tilgodha. Radiologist; Dr Somna Sharma and Dr Akriti Batra; Orthopedician Dr Pawan Kumar Mishra and Dr Arvind Naagar, pediatrician Dr Nirmala Chaudhary and Dr Poorvi; dermatologist Dr Pooja Yadav and Dr Dhruv Mishra; general surgeon Dr Vidhi Patel; Pulmonologist Dr Perugu Sharma; psychiatrist Dr Pinky Yadav; obstetrician Dr Saba Mazhar and Dr Akanksha Dixit. From Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, dentist Dr Komal Daswani and Dr Roshni Gyanchandani and eye specialist Dr Ajay Singh.
Chairman of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Sant Siddh Bhauji expressed happiness over the success of the camp and conveyed gratitude towards the doctors who rendered their services. On this occasion, Managing Trustee of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, A.C. Sadhwani said that Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahib ji had conceptualized an educated and healthy society in his lifetime. To give concrete shape to his thoughts, the disciples of Santji are working with stronger motivation. He said that to provide excellent eye care services to the people of ten districts around Bhopal, a new well-equipped hospital building of Sewa Sadan is under construction on Airport Road.
He appreciated the services rendered by Sewa Sadan team headed by Kushal Dharmani and Ms. Bharti Janiyani as well as all the doctors and other staff of Chirayu Hospital led by camp incharge Shri Radheshyam Ji. He also conveyed thanks to the management of Nav Yuvak Sabha for providing their premises and making arrangements for success of the camp. It is noteworthy that this camp was the idea of the follower of Sant Ji and renowned physician of the township Dr. Suresh Bhambhani.

Blindness in children leads to deep impact on psychological, emotional, and socioeconomic growth to the family. A child with blindness is more likely to have delays in developmental milestones, to be more frequently hospitalized, and die during childhood than a sighted child. Such severe vision loss also adversely effects the educational activities, orientation, and mobility from the early stage of life resulting in lack of employment privilege. These differential characteristics between a sighted and non-sighted child is more obvious in developing countries. Moreover, the disability adjusted life years (DALY) loss in a blind child is far more than that of adults with blindness.
