Workshop for Vision Center staff held at Sewa Sadan
“The health staff of Vision Centers should serve the patients who come for treatment with empathy,” was Sant Siddh Bauji’s advice to staff of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital’s 39 vision centers.
He was addressing the Data entry operators and community health workers of the vision centres at a day-long workshop held on 15 March 2023 at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital.
Siddh Bauji further urged the health workers and data entry operators working in the vision centers to perform an exhaustive survey in rural areas and collect errorless data that will help in eliminating avoidable blindness in the areas where we work.
Secretary, Jeev Sewa Sansthan, Shri Mahesh Dayaramani, Consultant, Col. ( Retd) Dr. Madan Deshpande, Trustee, Shri. A.C. Sadhwani and Managing trustee, Shri. L.C. Janiyani were present at the function.
Shri Mahesh Dayaramani suggested that health workers follow up on reports from their old patients. This will improve the reciprocity of good relations between health workers and patients.
Col. Dr. Madan Deshpande has said that 0.62% people of the country suffer from cataract every year. Blindness from cataracts is avoidable if detected and treated. If health workers should strive to bring 40+ age group to the vision centres for a timely check and this may help in early detection of any eye ailment.
Shri. A.C. Sadhwani stressed the need to build good relations between staff and patients. He suggested the staff inspire patients for their periodic eye tests.
Shri. L.C. Janiyani welcomed the gathering. He said that a pleasant demeanor and soft speech can attract maximum patients to the vision centers. Shri Janiyani said that the goods are not but the good relations are sold in the shops. On the occasion trustees Tulsi Adwani and Hero Keswani were also present.
