Six Sigma Health Care Organization conferred the Best Eye Hospital of the Year award to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Bhopal at a glittering function at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on Sunday, 10 March 2024.
The award has been conferred to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital for rendering excellent eye care services in the central India region. Health Minister, Delhi Government, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj; Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari were the eminent guests to present the awards. On behalf of the hospital, Trustee Suresh Awatramani and Senior Manager Kushal Dharmani received this award. The award consisted of a trophy and a citation.
Renowned film and TV artist Shri Yashpal Sharma and motivational speaker Sonu Sharma were also present on the occasion.
The organization awards / honors the super specialty hospitals located at different places in the country every year by assessing their services and quality. In this series, the award for the year 2023-24 in the field of eye care has been given to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital yesterday.
Six Sigma Healthcare organization provides healthcare services with the help of air ambulance to the disaster affected civilians and army troops in the inaccessible high altitude hilly areas of the north-eastern states of the country including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj and his wife Dr. Anita Bhardwaj are engaged in this mission.
Nisha Solanki belongs to a large family of two brothers and four sisters (of whom 3 are married). Both her brothers and elder sister attend school. Nisha’s father is mentally challenged. The responsibility of earning is on the mother, who is a daily wage farm labourer and grandmother, who tends to her goats. Two earing members for a family of ten.
Blindness in children leads to deep impact on psychological, emotional, and socioeconomic growth to the family. A child with blindness is more likely to have delays in developmental milestones, to be more frequently hospitalized, and die during childhood than a sighted child. Such severe vision loss also adversely effects the educational activities, orientation, and mobility from the early stage of life resulting in lack of employment privilege. These differential characteristics between a sighted and non-sighted child is more obvious in developing countries. Moreover, the disability adjusted life years (DALY) loss in a blind child is far more than that of adults with blindness.
