Officials of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital felicitated
Bhopal Traffic police organized a traffic awareness seminar and felicitation ceremony on Road Safety Campaign here today. Five office bearers of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital Secretary Hero Gyanchandani, Managing Trustee A.C. Sadhwani, Director (Admin) Kushal Dharmani, Hospital Administrator Anusha Tiwari and Camp Coordinator Nilesh Waghmare were felicitated on the occasion. Under this campaign, Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital organized five free refraction error and eye checkup camps at different places of Bhopal city during the month of January 2025. Over 1300 drivers suffering from refraction error and eye diseases got their eyes examined in those camps. Traffic police also organized an awareness seminar at Manas Bhawan along with the felicitation ceremony. In which various aspects of road safety and their benefits were discussed.
The chief guest of the seminar, Bhopal Police Commissioner Hari Narayan Chari Mishra, expected the citizens to strictly follow the traffic rules. He said that Nine Thousand children from schools and Five Thousand college going students participated in the awareness campaign. In view to spread the message of road safety a bike rally and painting competition were also organized in this series. Along with traffic education, it was also told in the seminar that the large number of people below 35 years of age are affected in road accidents. So, such awareness campaigns should continue not just for a month but time to time, campaigns should be undertaken by police as well as social organizations to spread road safety awareness in the society. The aim of the campaign is to reduce road accidents. On the ocassion Additional Commissioners duo of Police Awadhesh Goswami and Pankaj Srivastava, DCP traffic Sanjay Singh and social worker Dr. M.D. Bhagtani were present.
Nisha Solanki belongs to a large family of two brothers and four sisters (of whom 3 are married). Both her brothers and elder sister attend school. Nisha’s father is mentally challenged. The responsibility of earning is on the mother, who is a daily wage farm labourer and grandmother, who tends to her goats. Two earing members for a family of ten.
Blindness in children leads to deep impact on psychological, emotional, and socioeconomic growth to the family. A child with blindness is more likely to have delays in developmental milestones, to be more frequently hospitalized, and die during childhood than a sighted child. Such severe vision loss also adversely effects the educational activities, orientation, and mobility from the early stage of life resulting in lack of employment privilege. These differential characteristics between a sighted and non-sighted child is more obvious in developing countries. Moreover, the disability adjusted life years (DALY) loss in a blind child is far more than that of adults with blindness.
